Pinterest is set to have a new address, as the popular image sharing site is about to be based in San Francisco. Pinterest announced last Monday that they would be relocating to a new area, much like what Airbnb, Zynga and Twitter did before them.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said, “I am thrilled to welcome Pinterest to the ‘Innovation Capital of the World,’ and am pleased that our efforts to attract and retain the industry’s best and most innovative companies are working.”

Lee has been trying to lure startup companies to the Bay Area and is making it as a priority for his administration.

Pinterest will now call an area in Seventh and Brannan streets as their new home, as they plan to relocate in the SoMa district.

Zynga and Airbnb are also located in the same area just like Pinterest. Twitter also moved in an area nearby.

Pinterest took the Web by storm when they hit cyberspace earlier this year.

Social networking king Facebook also used to call Palo Alto home, but decided to relocate to Menlo Park last December.

If tax breaks will be given to start ups when they base in the Bay Area, then expect these companies to crop up in your neighborhood.

Will we see a San Francisco Startups professional team soon?
