Acer has been churning out Aspire laptops for years already and have made a mark on the notebook and netbook market with their aspire offing’s. With the success that the later has been achieving, Acer has decided to develop a new Aspire that can be an excellent alternative to expensive Ultrabooks.

The new Acer Aspire V5 is a slim laptop that is a reliable companion for your computer experience for a much lower price compared to Ultrabooks.

The Aspire V5 boasts of an attractive look with a silver metallic design, rounded corners and slim chassis.

Though nowadays, a DVD ROM on your laptop isn’t really the in-thing, there are times that you can use the optical drive. Though slim, the developers of the Acer Aspire V5 successfully placed a DVD-RW drive in the body of the laptop. No need for external DVD ROM.

The Acer Aspire V5 is being powered by second-generation Intel Core i3-2367M, clocked at 1.4Ghz. it also boasts of an 8GB on-board memory and should work well with the upcoming Windows 8.

The downside for the Acer Aspire V5 is it doesn’t pack a lot of battery power and that the pixel resolution is only 1,366 x 768.

The Acer Aspire V5 is a good product as an alternative for expensive laptops. But don’t expect too much from it.
