Startup GoInstant Launches First Interactive Web-Browsing Technology That is Completely Platform, Application and Device Independent; Secures $1.7 Million in Seed FundingThis week, at TechCrunch Disrupt, the industry’s foremost early-stage startup networking event, GoInstant, the startup that is redefining web sharing, unveiled its technology enabling the industry’s first “shared” web-browsing capability for on-demand, real-time collaboration that is completely platform, application and device independent. With the GoInstant technology, customers, business partners and colleagues can join online sessions together, browse the web and interact as if seated side-by-side – creating an entirely new web-sharing experience for customer engagement and problem solving – without any downloads or plugins.

In addition to launching its technology, GoInstant today announced that it has received $1.7 million in initial seed funding from a list of notable venture capitalists and angel investors led by Freestyle Capital, an early stage investor firm founded by Internet entrepreneurs Josh Felser and Dave Samuel.

Joining Freestyle Capital are the following social and web technology investors: Baseline Ventures; Greylock Partners; Social Leverage; Chamath Palihapitiya, founder, The Social+Capital Partnership; Yuri Milner, Facebook, Zynga and Groupon investor and CEO of Digital Sky Technologies; and Ed Sim, GotoMeeting and LivePerson investor and founding member for Dawntreader Ventures.

“We identified immediately with the GoInstant approach, as well as the incredible drive and the passion that we saw in the founding team,” said Josh Felser, co-founder, Freestyle Capital. “GoInstant has innovated an architecture that opens up a new world of business opportunities for web-browsing collaboration – making it effortless to engage with customers in new ways on virtually any platform. We are extremely excited to partner with them and help bring this technology to market.”

GoInstant co-founders Jevon MacDonald and Gavin Uhma have more than a decade of experience building and leading web technology startups. Prior to starting GoInstant, MacDonald was senior partner at Dachis Group, an Austin, Texas-based startup providing social business design services and technology. Uhma previously served as CTO for Slightly Social, a social gaming startup, and will be technology creator and chief architect at GoInstant.

“Our vision is to redefine the way that people can share the web together,” said MacDonald. “GoInstant’s unique technology enables native, real-time co-browsing capabilities that can be easily and instantly turned on – regardless of what browser or end user device is being used – spawning an entirely new shared web experience.”

GoInstant: Making Web Sharing Immediate, Intuitive, and Interactive
GoInstant changes the web-sharing landscape by delivering an intuitive and collaborative web-browsing experience without any complicated system requirements. Unlike screen sharing tools, GoInstant provides a fully native web experience, allowing multiple users to browse together and experience the shared session simultaneously in their own browser. With GoInstant, all interactions occur on the web in real-time – not on someone else’s screen.

GoInstant meets a growing market need for real-time, co-browsing capabilities. GoInstant’s technology is completely platform, application and device independent, requiring no downloads or plugins. With zero latency, GoInstant facilitates more productive sessions and is highly scalable – supporting an unlimited number of concurrent users. Most importantly, GoInstant is just that – instant. To get started and up and running, all a user must do is go to a URL.

By applying GoInstant’s technology, businesses can increase opportunities in areas such as sales, support, and eCommerce, improving web-based processes for: transaction support; customer response mechanisms; customer lead generation; and application orientation and training services.
