Instagram breaks the 100 million mark

Instagram populationHow many individuals are there who are fond of sharing their photos on photo-sharing site Instagram?

Being the most popular site in all those who offer photo-sharing services, Instagram has amassed millions of followers. But just how many?

If we base it on Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement, Instagram has crossed the 100 million user mark.

Zuckerberg told those who attended the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco, “They’re this super-talented bunch of engineers, they just crossed 100 million users.

“They’re just killing it, he added.

Last July, Instagram had only 80 million users. This an increase of 10 million new users per month since that time.

Instagram’s soaring numbers may have been because it has opened its doors to Android users. It was formerly exclusive for iOS users.

But Zuckerberg isn’t finished and he wants more.

“We want to help them grow to hundreds of millions of users,” he said.

He also vowed to integrate Instagram to the Facebook infrastructure since it is now being owned by the social networking giant officially.

But during his speech, he always used the word “they” rather than “we” to describe the Instagram team. This implies that he is giving the Instagram team a free hand on what developments to do.
